An inaugural strategic plan for a newly merged entity NAMI Southeast Louisiana

When NAMI New Orleans and NAMI St. Tammany came together as one organization, they brought with them a shared commitment to improving mental health and a powerful opportunity to create a unified vision for serving Southeast Louisiana. Agaru Consulting was honored to support the newly merged entity in developing its inaugural strategic plan.

In close partnership with the Board and Executive Director, we designed a thoughtful, inclusive planning process that honored the lived experience, professional expertise, and passion to serve of the organization’s leadership. We worked collaboratively to explore pivotal questions:
Which programs most effectively meet the needs of our communities?
What Board strengths and learning opportunities will position us for strong governance in this next chapter?
How do we elevate awareness of the vital resources NAMI SELA offers across the region?

By centering the knowledge of staff and leveraging the insights of a passionate Board, the strategic plan laid a clear, purpose-driven path forward—one that reflects both the strengths of the past and the boldness of what’s possible when communities come together for mental health.
